Veteran actress Cherry Pie Picache replied to a netizen who claimed that her commemoration post about ABS-CBN’s shut down was just pure of drama.

As the ABS-CBN network marks the first anniversary of its shutdown last May 5, many Kapamilya artists and celebrities recalled their experiences in the network.

Enchong Dee previously expressed his feeling of betrayal anew with his home network’s shut down.

In Picache’s recent Instagram post, she shared an art card by ABS-CBN with words “ISANG TAON NA. #ABSCBNShutdown”

The 50-year-old actress said that she only wishes for the ABS-CBN network to be free again.

“Ang aking dasal, makita ka muling malaya,” the actress wrote in the captions.

Picache also included praying emojis and three heart emojis in her post which symbolizes the three main colors of the ABS-CBN logo.

Picache simply wanted to commemorate the 1st anniversary of the shutdown of ABS-CBN however, one netizen commented that the actress was just being overdramatic.

“HAHAHAHA! nakakulong ba ABS? tinalian? deprived magpalabas ng balita at shows? hahahaha! parang di naman ah! apaka ingay nyo nga kahit nung nawalan na ng franchise eh…tigil tigilan ang drama, cherry pie! mga uto-uto lang naniniwala sa kaeklatan mo,” the netizen said.

Picache did not let the comment slide as she replied saying that her call for ABS-CBN freedom does not mean that the network was imprisoned.

“Ang pagiging malaya ba ay synonymous sa pagkakakulong lang? Kung sabagay… sinasabing malaya pero nakakulong tayo,” the actress said.

“Drama? Kaeklatan? siguradong sigurado ka siguro sa bayan na kakalakihan ng anak, pamilya at kung sinong kabataan na mahal mo. Good for you!!,” she added.

This was not the first time that the actress has defended herself from the netizens. She previously gave her reply to a netizen who labeled her as a cougar.

Cherry Pie Picache has been in the showbiz industry for about 30 years since she first started in 1991. She is known for her antagonist roles in various drama series like ‘Hiram na Mukha’, ‘Pangarap na Bituin’, and ‘Iisa Pa Lamang’.
