Singer Christian Bautista recalled what it felt when his contract with GMA Network was about to expire.

In his interview for his contract renewal on the Kapuso Network, Bautista admitted that he felt worried about his career because of the pandemic.

“Mayroong kaba because of the pandemic. Because of the lockdown, parang hindi sure lahat eh. Noong time na ‘yun, di sure lahat. Pero noong nabigyan nga ako ng assurance na to renew ang laking peace ang dumating po sa akin.”

He also related his previous experiences to other Kapuso stars who didn’t have the chance to renew their contracts with GMA Network.

“I’ve also been there. I also know the feelings of transferring. Every decision or meeting sa mga ganon, nire-review ‘yan, may pag-uusap, may pag-iisip. And, it’s not usually because of hindi na renew. Sometimes the artist wants a different path. Sometimes a different take, or look, or surroundings.”

Bautista also expressed his gratitude for his contract renewal.

“To still be offered a contract provides a great deal of humility, thankfulness, gratefulness. That this network still supports me and trusts me for these many years. To still be working with them and further. So masarap na feeling ‘yun as an artist.”

Christian also promised to do his best as a Kapuso.

“Nakikita ko ang sarili ko na to do my best as a Kapuso in all the years that they will have me. If they will have me, I will do my best to be there for them.”

Bautista also added that he considers his contract renewal as a gift to his family.

“Personally, it is also, parang my gift to my wife and my family. Na parang, “Hey, look, this wonderful company still believes in me. And, we will still be able to together for the common purpose of entertaining the Filipino. And to provide for this family.”

He then added that the contract renewal serves as a “wonderful assurance” for his career with GMA Network.

“It’s a wonderful assurance that I have something to look forward to for the next few years as well, in terms of shows, and work, and being with my friends. And talagang, I’m very grateful.”

Aside from his contract renewal with GMA Network, he also inked his contract with Universal Records earlier this year.

Bautista transferred to GMA Network in 2013. From there, He starred in teleseryes such as With A Smile and My Love From the Stars. He performed and hosted Party Pilipinas, Sunday All-Stars, and All-Out Sundays. His most recent endeavor is becoming a judge in the GMA Network’s reality singing competition, The Clash.
