Actress Maris Racal shares how she accepted her Maalaala Mo Kaya role despite scheduling issues amid the pandemic.
In a media conference for the MMK episodes headlining this June, Racal recalled how she pushed through scheduling conflicts and quarantines for her role.
“Actually, nag-struggle pa kami na matuloy kasi sa schedule and of course sa quarantine. Importante din yun before the shoot. And we really wanted to make it happen kasi, first of all it’s a father’s day special and then two part MMK sya.”
To add to her struggle, Racal admitted that she experienced panic attacks during the start of the pandemic.
“May mga times na hindi ko talaga kaya, start pa lang nung pandemic doon ko na feel na for the first time ever, na mag-panic attack. Ganon pala yung struggle ngayon. So tinulungan ako ng mga kapatid ko how to overcome it. Like, malulunod ka talaga.”
For her favorite MMK episode, Racal shared the one which stars Angel Aquino and Jane Oineza, lauding their portrayal of their characters.
“Yung pinaka-pinaka favorite ko was the MMK of miss Angel Aquino and Jane Oineza. I can’t remember the title but sobrang believable talaga nung mga acting dun.
“Mother-daughter story sya and yung story nya if I’m not mistaken, drug addict yung mom and yung parang dynamic nila medyo parang nag-iistruggle sila don. And like noong nanonood ako, iyak talaga ako ng iyak.”
Maris Racal top-bills the two-part Father’s day special of MMK alongside and Cris Villanueva. The episode titled Finding Papa is under the direction of Jerome Pobocan.
