Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo is set to enter the world of showbiz through GMA Network.
Entertainment news writer and talent manager Lolit Solis confirmed this on her Instagram account.
A part of her caption wrote, “Pasok na daw sa GMA7 si Rabiya Mateo ang ating Ms. Universe Philippines, Salve. Bongga, may showbiz ambition pala ang beauty queen kaya naman right after matapos ang kanyang reign, heto na, showbiz na.”
Fans would be surely glad to see Rabiya, whether on a TV series or a film.
“Maganda naman siyang addition sa rooster ng mga artista, at kahit paano, maganda rin na may bagong mukha na mapapanuod sa mga bagong serye. Totoo naman na kadalasan, stepping stone ng mga beauty queen ang kanilang korona sa pagpasok sa showbiz. Iyon ang advantage ni Rabiya, dahil ngayon pa lang marami ng excited na mapanuod siya sa big screen,” Lolit said.
The beauty revealed her plans to join the entertainment industry in her interview in May.
“I wanted to try show business. I might go into acting, I’m gonna talk to management. In the coming days, I’m gonna sign up for a network,” she shared.
Rabiya represented the Philippines at the Miss Universe 2020 pageant and finished as a Top 21 semifinalist.
It can be recalled that the Miss Universe Philippines coronation in October 2020 was surrounded by controversy after some of its candidates claimed that the results were manipulated.
Rabiya was born out of a domestic partnership between her Indian-American father and her Filipina mother, who later got separated. She attended the Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy Program at the Iloilo Doctors’ College and graduated cum laude.
