Speculations on Boy Abunda’s plans of returning to his previous home, the GMA network has surfaced.
The buzz came after Ogie Diaz and Mama Loi introduced a blind item on their YouTube vlog. They said that a Kapamilya show master is planning to transfer to the Kapuso network.
The King of Talk began his hosting career on the GMA network from 1994-1999. He then transferred to the Kapamilya network, where he stayed for about two decades now.
In a YouTube vlog uploaded on September 27, Diaz said that if there is truth to Tito Boy’s network transfer, the TV host should not burn his bridges with ABS-CBN.
“Ang importante dito ay ‘di dapat tayo nagsusunog ng tulay.
“Si Kuya Boy pwede maging Kapuso muna siya habang wala pang prangkisa ‘yung Kapamilya. Eventually, kung natapos ‘yung konrata niya at okay na rin ang prangkisa ng ABS-CBN, welcome pa rin si Tito Boy,” said Diaz.
When asked if the ABS-CBN bosses will allow Tito Boy to transfer network, Diaz said that as long as the TV host will ask permission properly, then he will be allowed.
He also said that there are no issues with the alleged network transfer of Abunda since he currently has no projects with ABS-CBN.
“Ako ha, kasi kung walang konkreto pang plano ang ABS-CBN para kay Kuya Boy, wala pang talk show, hahayaan nilang lumipat si Kuya Boy,” Diaz said.
In an interview last night by Miguel Dumaual, Tito Boy confirmed that he had early discussions with other networks, “I have been in discussion with various parties, including people who are affiliated with 7. I’ve been offered by other channels. I’ve been asked by people affiliated with TV5. I’ve been negotiating with other independent producers to do talk shows.”
“But I’m still waiting for ABS-CBN to have free TV.”
In a previous interview with Boy Abunda, he said that he is optimistic that ABS-CBN will be able to bounce back from its setback.
He said that the Kapamilya employees and supporters have no option but to continue hoping that ABS-CBN can go back to free TV someday.
Currently, he has an online talk show–The Best Talk, which streams on KUMU via the FYE channel. The show recently had a new season on September 4.
