On September 1, during the media conference for the teleserye’s finale of Init sa Magdamag, Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson confirmed his upcoming romantic comedy movie project after his stint with the series.
He teased that he’s currently working on a movie project with a light-hearted and ‘cute’ storyline.
“Ayun mayroon lang ako ginagawang pelikula ngayon. Breather, something light, and romantic comedy. Maganda rin ‘yung kuwento, cute.”
Anderson also revealed that he just came from shooting the said movie project, with plans of going out of the country to shoot other scenes.
“Gusto ko sanang magpahinga, pero kakabalik ko lang ng Maynila kahapon dahil may shooting ng bagong movie na ginagawa. Next, next week din ata aalis din ako, may mga ginawa kaming eksena dito sa Pinas at sa abroad.”
He then noted that the movie project’s light-hearted in tone and is a breather from the heavy drama scenes of Init Sa Magdamag.
“Pero ito mas magaan siya, mas magaan na role, mas magaan na istorya. Parang ito na ‘yung breather ko from Init sa Magdamag.”
As for his character as Tupe in Init Sa Magdamag, Anderson said he found portraying a ‘doctor-to-the-baryo’ fulfilling.
“Masarap gampanan si Doc Tupe. Kahit hindi naman totoo naman syempre ‘yung mga eksena at ‘yung ginagamot ko ‘yung mga pasyente, tumutulong ako sa community. Kaya siguro naging ganon din ‘yung itsura ni Doc Tupe na parang may fulfillment kasi fulfilling talaga siya eh.”
He then recalled the cast and crew’s effort in making the teleserye.
“More than anything sobrang grateful lang ako dahil alam ko ‘yung pinagdaanan namin para magawa lang ‘yung show na ‘to. Para po makuha po namin lahat ng magandang comments, puri, quality noong show. Sobrang fulfilling siya.”
As for Init Sa Magdamag, the teleserye starring Anderson, Yam Concepcion, and JM de Guzman, is nearing its finale, which airs on September 10.
