In the Tuesday, October 12 episode of It’s Showtime, Vice Ganda described a true public servant according to his views.
The comedian came up with this topic after interviewing Yolanda Magat of Caloocan, a health worker for 25 years, during the Reina ng Tahanan segment.
The contestant shared that she has been passionately helping others even with a low salary.
Vice Ganda then commended, saying that the likes of her are true public servants.
The comedian shared, “You are the true public servant because a true public servant is selfless.”
“Serbisyo publiko. Kinakalimutan niya ang sarili niya, dahil iyong pinagsiserbisyuhan niya muna bago siya. Iyon ’yung totoong public servant,” he said.
“Yung mga totoong public servants, hindi sila yumayaman at hindi sila nagpapayaman. ’Yung mga yumaman habang nakaupo, hindi sila totoong public servants,” he said.
“Ginamit lang nila ang posiyon para mabigyan nila ng sariling pag-angat ang kanilang mga pamilya. At nagpagamit din tayo sa mga ’yan.”
Vice Ganda has been known as a vocal critic of the corruption in the Philippine government. He is also urging everyone to use their right to vote in the coming elections.
