Why Kira Balinger keeps on working despite the pandemic?

Balinger’s Sing-Galing episode with Cortez airs on October 2, Saturday at 6 pm.

On October 1, Kapamilya artist Kira Balinger shared the reason behind her motivation to work despite the pandemic.

During her exclusive interview along with Cai Cortez with RAWR Nation, Balinger said she feels responsible for lifting the spirits of her fellow Filipino amid the pandemic.

“I feel like it’s a responsibility I have to live up to, kasi po I’m–parehos po kami ni ate Cai. We’re in the entertainment business, and it is our job to lift the spirits who are feeling low nowadays during the pandemic, so ‘yun po ‘yung nagiging motivation ko.”

One of her recent stints is her guesting on TV5’s Sing-Galing.

Balinger shared behind-the-scenes details on how the show ensures the safety of everyone on the set.

“Everybody followed all the safety protocols, it just so happens that kaming mga artist, kami ni ate Cai hindi pwede mag-mask masisira ‘yung make-up [mookupshi]. Pero we definitely followed the safety protocol na social distancing, distancia amiga, ‘yung ganon.”

She admitted that she feels excited about her upcoming guesting on TV5’s Videoke game show.

“Never akong sumali sa kahit anong singing competition, so talagang hiyang-hiya ako. Di ko alam, basta sobrang hiyang-hiya ako. I didn’t know how to like joke masyado dahil sa sobrang hiya.

“I’m excited for everybody to watch ‘yung that performance, ‘yung tayong dalawa [referring to Cortez]. Hindi ko na po sasabihin kung ano ‘yun para matuwa ang mga tao pag napanood nila. Pero isa lang po ‘yung masasabi ko. Sobrang napaka-happy ko po sa sing-galing. No pressure at all. And, good vibes po talaga lahat doon. So it didn’t really feel like work at all.”

Balinger then said that she feels honored to receive criticisms from Sing-Galing ‘jukebosses’ such as Rey Valera, Allan K, and Ethel Booba.

“It’s an honor to be critiqued by such amazing singers na nauna na before you because they’re there to teach you, to enlighten you to the things you could possibly do or work [on]. So, no pressure at all. And they want us to learn from it.”

Cortez interjected saying that Allan K praised Balinger’s singing voice.

“At dahil dyan Kira, natandaan mo ‘yung sinabi ni Allan K, ‘You should really pursue singing.’ ‘Yung boses ni Kira napaganon si Allan eh.”

Balinger thankfully gushed at the comment.

“Sobrang grateful ako dun sa comment niya.”
