Kapamilya star Barbie Imperial did not hesitate to speak out regarding the cheating allegations against her boyfriend, Diego Loyzaga, and sexy star AJ Raval.
Imperial discussed the rumors linking Raval to Loyzaga in Boy Abunda’s interview on The Best Talk at Cinema One on November 28.
The issue started after social media personality Xian Gaza insinuated in a facebook post that Diego cheated on Barbie with AJ.
According to Imperial, she heard all these allegations. She admitted that she initially wanted to confront Gaza, but decided not to.
“Noong una [naming marinig ‘yon], gigil na ako, gusto ko hanapin [si Gaza]. Pero pinag-pray ko na lang ‘yung taong ‘yun. Alam ko kasi na iyon ang gusto niyang mangyari, kaya hindi ko ibibigay ‘yon sa kanya,” she said.
“Yung akin, alam namin ni Diego na wala kaming ginagawang masama. Masaya kami at happy kami na magkasama. Bakit pa namin pagtutuunan nang pansin ‘yung tao na naninira sa amin? Pero noong una, nakaka-stress talaga siya. Pagkatapos namin mag-usap ni Diego, sabi namin, hindi namin hahayaan na ‘yung isang tao na ‘yung sisira sa amin.”
Gaza’s accusation that Loyzaga was visiting Raval in Pampanga while she was waiting in Manila is also not true.
The Kapamilya star clarified that the videos of her boyfriend and Raval that circulated online were recorded during the filming of Death of a Girlfriend.
“Kilala ko si Diego. Kilala ko siya. Lahat ng binibintang sa kanya, na nambababae siya, na pinupuntahan niya si AJ Raval sa Pampanga, hindi totoo ‘yun. Hindi totoo.”
She added that her boyfriend couldn’t cheat on her because, at that time, AJ was still in a relationship with Axel Torres.
Barbie expressed her frustration in AJ’s silence about the matter.
She then dared the rising actress to speak up to clear the issue.
“Yung about doon kay AJ Raval, for me kasi, ‘di ba, if wala kang kinalaman, or alam mo naman na hindi ka kabit ni Diego, magsalita ka. For me, bakit parang gusto mo na nangyayari ‘to lahat, na nagka-thing kayo ni Diego?
“Gusto mo maging kabit? E, hindi ka nga gusto ng boyfriend ko,” said Barbie.
Barbie also explicitly said that AJ and social media personality Xian Gaza conspired to spread rumors about her and Diego. She has proof that the two are friends. According to her, AJ is giving gossip and information to Xian about them.
“And I heard. I have a proof na AJ and Xian Gaza are friends, and they really talk about… she feeds him mga info, na mga chismis…
“So, parang [sa] akin, ‘O, gusto mo pala ‘to,’ parang ganoon.”
Imperial said she broke her silence to protect her boyfriend because Loyzaga is still being accused of infidelity.
“Sobrang tahimik ako about the issue. Ang dami ko na ring naririnig, pero hindi ko na kinakaya. Alam mo na ganoon ‘yung lumalabas na isyu, bakit hindi na mismo ikaw ang magpatahimik at alam mo naman na hindi ka naman gusto ng boyfriend ko.
“Ang tagal ko nang nananahimik. ‘Yung boyfriend ko na ‘yung kawawa na pinagbibintangan na nag-chi-cheat sa akin. Hindi naman nag-chi-cheat si Diego sa akin.
“Huwag ‘yung taong mahal ko, kasi magsasalita talaga ako para sa kaniya,” she added.
Despite the issues and controversies that surfaced, she said it strengthened her relationship with her boyfriend.
“Yung mga isyu na nangyari, mas naging strong talaga kami. Pinag-usapan namin iyon eh. Dalawang bagay lang ‘yun, e – pwedeng sirain kami nang nangyari, o mas maging strong kami. Pinili namin maging strong.”
After Imperial’s statements came out, Raval posted a meme with the written text “Stay away from my man” on her facebook on November 29.
Netizens linked AJ’s facebook post to the issue involving the couple Barbie and Diego.
According to netizens, Imperial seems to have answered this with a TikTok video where she lip-synced the lyrics, “I’m holding back everything I wanna say. Consider yourself lucky that I’m choosing to behave (from the song, Does She Know).”
