Edu Manzano and Cherry Pie Picache admitted that they dated 20 years ago.
In a Youtube interview with Luis Manzano on December 27, they revealed that they were together for about a year back then.
“Tahimik lang kami noon. It was almost a year,” said Edu.
When Luis said that his father and Cherry Pie simply rekindled their love, the 55-year-old actress said: “Hindi niya ako makalimutan.”
Edu then explained that knowing Cherry Pie helped him be comfortable around her for a long time.
“Kahit papaano, nakakahinga ako ngayon nang malalim. Punumpuno ng saya.
“Nagkataon, after the twenty years, nanatili kaming magkaibigan. We never drifted apart.
“We always see each other sa iba’t ibang okasyon and sa iba’t ibang mga gatherings, and we would always be talking sincerely.
“We knew that we still like each other,” he said.
On the other hand, Cherry Pie also knew that they still liked each, other but she would disregard her feelings before.
“We remained friends, and we would always see each other. And then, every time we see each other, you know that there’s something different.
“Pero me, I always tell him nga, like [magkikita], maghihiwalay na kayo and you’d feel na parang iba… Di ba, may ganoon?
“Pero I would always dismiss it because your dad has always been a charmer. Yung karisma niya, iba talaga,” she said.
Meanwhile, Edu and Cherry Pie’s children have given their support to their relationship.
Antonio Tria, Cherry Pie’s son to her former partner Gary Tria, said that her mother deserves the love that she is receiving.
Luis Manzano was previously shocked by his father’s relationship with Cherry Pie, but he later accepted it.
