While career decisions and management plans are eventually to play the biggest role in determining who will dominate the year, several Kapamilya stars are already showing promise of breakthroughs, enough to convince us they will make it big in 2022.
There’s a whole new set of ambitious and promising shows awaiting some of these up-and-coming stars, while those who have been around for years are welcoming the year with a more promising insight.
Some stars are to shine no matter dimly they started in their young careers. Some have to spend a couple of years before that one big break; some get fame practically handed to them at the onset of their bid to make it big in showbiz.
These stars undoubtedly have the potential, and with the projects they will work on in 2022, that potential is only poised to make them finally shine, shine brighter than the last time, or shine brightest.
From those who made their mark in 2021 and those who are expected to continue their success in 2022, to upcoming stars who are starring in their projects, to date, the following are the ABS-CBN stars who may likely end the year as household names:
AC Bonifacio.
Bonifacio seems to be the up-and-coming artist who barely sweats it out in breaking into the mold of a multimedia star.
In her six-year career, she has proven her skills in both dancing and acting. Last year, she was launched as a solo P-POP artist, as it paved the way for her to capture the realm of recording.
She is going to forge her path forward this year.
Andi Abaya.
You may try to overlook Abaya for her newbie status, but don’t get easily fooled.
The PBB Connect alumna looks perfectly poised to become your new television princess. After starring in her movie and becoming one of the lead actors on the recently-concluded Web series, Saying Goodbye–she will shine again via the upcoming TV series, Love in 40 Days.
Andrea Brillantes.
Through Brillantes’s more-than-a-decade career, she proved her mettle in tackling various roles.
After headlining the inspirational series, Huwag Kang Mangamba last year and the Web series, Saying Goodbye–the homegrown Kapamilya star is all geared up to shine anew this year.
Angela Ken.
If there’s one newbie recording star whose star shined the brightest during the pandemic, Ken is that person.
From being a viral TikTok star, she immediately saw fame via her anthemic debut single—which she wrote—Ako Naman Muna.
Now a Star Magic talent and a Star Music artist, the new recording artist is off to much bigger successes in 2022.
Anji Salvacion.
Salvacion’s bright future in showbiz seems to have been pretty well laid out long before the Big Night of Pinoy Big Brother Kumunity Season 10.
She got selected as one of the Celebrity Big 2. This year, opportunities won’t be a surprise if that would come knocking loudly at her door.
Anthony Jennings.
Jennings had his first real taste of fame, when his performance in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry, Love At First Stream, made waves alongside Daniella Stranner’s.
It definitely won’t be his last as multiple projects are now waiting for him, which will only ensure that he shines among other stars, this year.
The young male star is set to star in the upcoming youth-oriented series, Tara, G!
Belle Mariano.
Labeled as an ‘emerging superstar,’ already speaks volumes of Mariano’s humongous star quality and the path to superstardom she currently takes.
After her very successful film, Love is Color Blind, and the record-breaking Web series, He’s Into Her, last year. Mariano is all set to shine her star again in 2022.
BGYO.
Just a year into penetrating the PPOP scene, BGYO has undoubtedly established itself among the most successful local idol groups in the country, having released no less than five chart-topping singles and a full-length studio album.
Last year, they capped their success with a beautifully staged digital concert. Being named as Philippine H&M ambassadors this year–is a testament to their increasingly-roaring momentum towards stardom.
Brent Manalo.
Manalo is one of those newbies whose visuals very well precede their artistry.
His boy-next-door looks will undoubtedly give him the push to get to the spotlight, but even with his still limited acting stint, it’s easy to get convinced he’s more than just a pretty face.
Currently appearing on the primetime series, The Broken Marriage Vow, Manalo looks very well prepared to take the matinee idol route.
Charlie Dizon.
Not many young actresses of today move in their careers as expeditiously as Dizon does.
Now, peaking, Dizon’s young showbiz career, thus, is predicted to get even more promising, as she makes waves with her stellar performance in the currently airing Kapamilya heavy drama, Viral Scandal.
At 24, already an MMFF Best Actress via Fan Girl, it won’t be a surprise should she bag more prestigious acting accolades this year and in the future, given her enormous versatility.
Daniela Stranner.
After leaving a positive impression for her exemplary performance in the 2021 MMFF film, Love At First Stream, Stranner is off to reaching a new height in her young career, as she lands bigger roles in various projects this year.
One of the fastest rising Rise Arists, she gets her first lead role in a series in 2022, via the youth-oriented drama, Tara, G!
Donny Pangilinan.
Pangilinan’s cosmic surge in popularity may be attributed [largely] to his onscreen team-up with another breakthrough star, Belle Mariano.
There’s no question of his capacity to thrust superstardom by himself, though.
His turning point is his tandem with Mariano, which fated seemingly to become their generation’s most successful love team.
After DonBelle’s record-breaking film, Love is Color Blind, last year, Pangilinan reprised his role on He’s Into Her, which will return for its second season this year.

The Tawag ng Tanghalan alumna went viral last year for her pitch-defying Dahil Mahal na Mahal Kita cover, which inadvertently opened doors to better opportunities for her.
This year, no doubt she is to set her mark in both recording and acting realms.
Jane de Leon.
Being the new Darna speaks volumes of de Leon’s fate to superstardom.

It’s hard to miss the attention given by ABS-CBN to Alcantara these days.
