OPM Artists Kyla, Jay R, and Darren Espanto expressed their excitement with their return to live performances through the Mak Musik Festival during the media conference for the music event on March 5, 2022.
Kyla said that she feels excited to return to live performances in the U.S.
“Sobrang excited po ako. This (MAK Musik Festival) is actually, we’ve done a few shows here in Manila, medyo nagstart na rin maging normal ‘yung entertainment and live performances.
“But it would be my first time performing in the USA in so long, so I’m so excited kasi alam kong maraming mga Pinoy diyan na excited rin na makapanood ng Filipino artists like us. Itong Mak Music Festival will give them so much feels. And I’m so excited to sing for all of them.”
Espanto also recalled his previous out-of-the-country performances, hinting at his excitement with their return to live shows.
“I’m so excited because the last time that I was there, we did ASAP Bay Area, so I went down to Los Angeles and stuff like that. So being able to come back to perform for a live audience is something very/ exciting to me. And I think all of my co-artists here feel the same way.”
Jay R admitted that he couldn’t wait to go up the stage with the upcoming music festival.
“I have been really performing on Philippine TV for a while. I’ve been in the States for six months. I’ve been spending time with my family. But luckily for me, iba dito sa states kasi open na eh. Everyone’s pretty much- doing shows. I’ve been going around.
“What’s good about that is I’ve been practicing. I’ve been in the zone and just really doing my music. And, I can’t wait to go up on stage for this Festival kasi the show that I’ve been doing is just little pocket shows. Like little two hundred capacity shows that I’ve been doing here and there.”
Kyla, Jay R, and Darren Espanto join fellow OPM artists such as EZ-Mil, Froilan Canlas, HBOM, Steven Paysu, Keifer Sanchez, and Kaela Francheska at The MAK Musik Festival on April 1 and 2 in Los Angeles, California.
