Kapuso writer Suzette Doctolero may have spread fake news about Darryl Yap’s alleged impending appointment to the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).
In her Facebook post on Monday, May 16, Doctolero wrote that Yap was allegedly offered the position of FDCP head, which Liza Diño-Seguerra currently holds.
“Bakit trending si Daryl Yap? E ano kung maging FDCP head siya? Ayaw nyo rin naman kay Liza nung simula kasi the who, pero later on ang dami nang chumika doon sa babae . Ganun talaga ang nature ng politics sa Pinas. Chaka mang sabihin pero Kung sinong nanalo, sila ang makakakuha ng posisyon.”
Yap started being noticed for his Vincentiments video series on Facebook. He then directed recent controversial films like Jowable, Tililing, and Revirginzed.
But he became more “famous” for the Len-Len video series, which aimed to discredit and malign Vice President Leni Robredo during the campaign season.
Recently, Yap trended on social media, not because of his alleged FDCP post but his continuous vitriol against VP Leni.

While it’s not far fetched that Yap being a rabid Marcos Jr. supporter and “close friend” to Sen. Imee Marcos, he could land in any government position soon.
However, FDCP Chair Liza Diño’s will continue to hold the post for another three years.
Dino’s appointment was extended until 2025 based on her Facebook post in March.
President Duterte appointed Diño in 2016 for a 3-year term. It was extended to 2021 and was recently reappointed to position until 2025.
Meanwhile, in her latest post, Doctolero made a u-turn, saying she’s just teasing Yap’s basher.
She also added that she just wants to make fun of Yap’s critics because he’s trending on social media.
Doctolero was sharing a screenshot of a Manila Bulletin article containing her claim about Yap’s appointment.
“Hello Manila Bulletin. Sana tinanong ninyo muna ako to confirm kung totoo. Ang dali ko namang ipm. Pwede naman kasing inaasar ko lang ang mga nang aasar kay Daryl kasi trnrending nila yung bata at ang daming hanash.
