On May 6, Kapamilya Love Team Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla expressed their thoughts on their series 2 Good 2 Be True, reaching Filipinos globally.
During the media conference for KathNiel’s comeback series, Bernardo highlighted their opportunity to inspire more people now that their series streams in iWantTFC and Netflix.
“To create projects at binigyan kami ng opportunity to show it not just here in the Philippines but also through TFC, iWant, and now on Netflix. It is such an honor and privilege for us because hindi naman lahat nabibigyan ng ganyang opportunity. Once binigyan ka ng ganyan opportunity, you want to do something good–great, you want to inspire more people.”
Bernardo felt grateful and proud to see a Kapamilya series on Netflix.
“So nakaka-proud na slowly alam mo ‘yun pumapasok tayo now, Netflix. It’s such a huge opportunity not only for us pero sa ABS-CBN, so we’re very grateful.”
She then hoped that their project would open doors for ABS-CBN and Filipino-made productions.
“And hopefully, after this project, it will open more doors not only for us but also for the company na kaya, kaya natin na Filipino-made basta bigyan ng time, bigyan ng mga tamang mga tao, kaya nating gumawa ng ganitong quality projects.”Â
She then expressed her wish to bring joy to Overseas Filipino Workers through their show.
“And hopefuly, through the projects also the Filipinos, especially the OFWs sana nabibigyan namin sila ng kaunting hope and kaunting joy kasi dinadala namin ‘yung Pilipinas sa kanila even though they’re away.”Â
Padilla emphasized the importance of showing Filipino values to Pinoys abroad.
“Maganda rin na napapanood ng mga kababayan natin lalo na ‘yung mga nasa America at ibang bansa, lalo na ‘yung mga kabataan, ‘yung mga Filipino films, dahil punong-puno ng kultura na hindi na natin nakikita din.Â
“Minsan pag malayo na tayo, ‘yung Filipino values, napapanood pa natin. Kasi marami rin akong kilala na nasa ibang bansa na nakakalimutan na ‘yung root ng pagiging Filipino. So importante rin na napapanood nila dahil mahalaga ang Filipino values and culture natin.”
