Kapamilya artist Ivana Alawi revealed on May 24, that her impression of Sam Milby changed after meeting him personally.

During the media conference for her upcoming series, A Family Affair, Alawi recalled how meeting and bonding with her showbiz crush (Milby) changed her view of the Kapamilya actor.

“Si Sam, crush na crush ko dati.

“Sa movies and teleseryes niya before, kaya nga natatakot ako kasi parang kapag naging crush mo ‘yung isang tao tapos makakatrabaho, tapos feeling ko nga very intimidating siya. Pero hindi pala. Kabaligtaran pala, he’s a very, very nice person.”

She also acknowledged Milby’s body of work in showbiz as one of the factors that intimidated her.

“Si Sam naman isa pa ‘yun. Akala ko dati, takot din ako na makatrabaho kasi feeling ko sobrang tagal na sa industriya, sobrang galing, professional siya.”

However, she clarified that Milby had a fun side while they were working on the series.

“‘Yung natatakot akong maka-eksena siya, pero noong first time namin magkita, puro siya biro, puro siya nagbibiro, tapos sabi niya gusto niya comfortable kaming lahat.”

Alawi described Milby’s supportive nature while they were taping.

“Kapag kunwari nahihirapan ako, ayan kakapit na ako sa kaniya, hindi ako maka-arte, tapos ayun very supportive talaga sila.”

She then revealed how she related to Milby through their shared experiences of losing a parent.

“Tapos minsan pinaguusapan ko like ‘yung kay Sam, kasi pareho kaming nawalan ng tatay, so parang kinukwento ko, nafe-feel ko ulit ‘yung emotions. And very, ano din si Sam, kapag nahihirapan ako, very maalaga din.”

Earlier, Alawi admitted she had a crush on her co-star Sam Milby before working with the Kapamilya actor.

As for her series, Alawi and Milby star in the upcoming Kapamilya series, Family Affair, together with other Kapamilyas, Gerald Anderson, Jameson Blake, and Jake Ejercito.

Alawi portrays the character of Cherry Red, while the Kapamilya actors take on the roles of the Estrella brothers.

The series, directed by Raymund Ocampo and Jerome Pobocan, premieres soon on Kapamilya platforms.
