Luis Manzano revealed he almost left showbiz due to the ‘dirty’ style of the industry.
On July 17, on Francine Diaz’s YouTube vlog, Manzano confessed that he questioned himself many times whether he would continue his journey in the entertainment industry.
“’Yung ibang mga tao talaga hindi alam kung papaano ang industriya. Ang nakikita ng mga tao most of the time ay ‘yung glitz and glamor na lang, the finished product. Ay, masarap mag-artista. Maganda ang income.
“Kung alam nyo lang kung gaano rin, I mean, hindi na ako magloloko, matanda na ako, kung gaano rin kadumi ang industriya, kung papaano talaga. People will never understand it. Akala nila madali tayong pag-usapan.
“Yung mga ganyan na bumubuhos na ang mga negativities, mapapaisip ka rin talaga na, ‘Bakit ba hindi na lang ako mamuhay nang tahimik, nang normal?’” he said.
Manzano shared that people laugh at artists and talents who got involved in controversies, saying they always receive negative comments from the public.
“You realize na iyong ibinigay sa atin na blessing ay hindi lahat ng tao nabibigyan ng ganitong pagkakataon. Na ngumiti ka lang sa camera, you take one picture kunwari nasa mall ka, may magpa-picture sa ‘yo, yung 10 seconds na ibibigay mo sa kaniya kung ano man ‘yung problema niya sa araw na ‘yun, makakalimutan niya nang dahil sa iyo.”
Manzano added that it brings him great joy knowing he can put a smile on people’s faces.
Manzano started as a commercial model for a clothing brand. He rose to fame in the entertainment industry with his TV hosting and acting career.
