On July 9, comedienne Pokwang hit back at a netizen who claimed that her breakup with her live-in partner, American actor Lee O’Brian is her karma.
Pokwang and the American actor were together since 2015. In 2018, the two had their first child together named Malia Francine O’Brian.
Rumors of their breakup surfaced back in 2021, but it got confirmed recently.
In Ogie Diaz’s YouTube update on July 8, the comedian and talent manager confirmed that Pokwang and Lee have already split up.
“Last November 2021 pa ay wala na, hiwalay na si Pokwang at Lee O’Brian,” said Ogie.
In PEP’s Instagram post on July 9, the news website also confirmed Pokwang and Lee O’Brian’s break up.
In the said Instagram post, one netizen commented that the breakup is Pokwang’s ‘karma.’
“Kaya pala masyadong bitter ngayon. Pinagkakaabalahan ang makipag-away sa mga Pro-Marcos. Karma ba ‘yan @itspokwang27,” said the netizen.
Pokwang replied that her breakup is simply a part of God’s plan to lead her to the right person.
“Hindi po karma ang tawag dun nililinis ni God ang daan ko patungo sa tamang tao! Ikaw kapag namatayan kaba ng kamag-anak mo karma agad? Bakit may pinatay ba ako? Gaga ka?” said the comedienne.
Pokwang and Lee O’Brian first met in 2014 for the Star Cinema film EDSA Woolworth. The two are currently working on co-parenting set-up for their four-year-old child.
