Kapuso sports-serye Bolera is ending with a high note as it reached its highest TV ratings.
On Friday, August 26, GMA Drama proudly shared Bolera’s highest-ever TV rating a day before its finale episode.
“Our HIGHEST ratings so far! Maraming salamat po sa inyong pagtutok sa aming pagtatapos!”

It’s Thursday, August 25 episode which featured Joni’s (Kylie Padilla) final match with Cobrador (Gardo Versoza) scored a 15.5% rating. It’s the highest ever according to the Nielsen NUTAM survey.
The nerve-racking episode showed Joni struggling as she experienced night blindness again making it hard for her to see the billiard balls.
Bolera’s run has been good ever since. Its pilot episode on May 30, quickly jumped to the number 3 spot on the rating board bumping off long-time number 3 at that time FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
Its pilot rating of 12.7% was also a win for the primetime’s second slot.
Previous Kapuso shows that held the second slot only averaged below 10% like its predecessor Mano Po which premiered at the number 5 spot on the rating chart.
Bolera is the comeback series of Kylie Padilla after almost 3 years of break from showbiz.
During its media conference, Kylie admitted that Bolera changed her standards in accepting future projects.
“Nag-iba talaga siya. Actually ‘yung gano’ng standard na hinahanap ko nag-iba talaga nu’ng nagka-baby na ako kasi ayokong masayang ‘yung time na nalalayo ako sa mga anak ko.
“But because of Bolera, ibang klase ‘yung pagdidirek ni Direk [Dominic Zapata] and his photography. The way that he works is very different. Na-appreciate ko lang, mas nagbukas lang ‘yung mata ko at pag-iintindi ko sa craft namin na puwede pala ‘yun, na ganoong klaseng work na parang pelikula.”
She also added that she’s now ready to work in a new project again after Bolera.
“It’s been a few months nu’ng last taping day namin so I think nakapag-recover na ako from Joni. I think I’m ready to work again. Nag-movie na ako kasama si Gerald, may bagong character na akong ginawa so I think makakapag-move on na ako. Pero noong last taping day nalungkot talaga ako, hindi pa ako ready matapos.”
