Miss Manila 2020 Alexandra Abdon’s comment in the past offended Herlene Budol

Despite this, Budol realized that Abdon’s comment pushed her to do her best in her career.

In an interview aired on Wednesday, August 31, Herlene Budol admitted that she was offended by Miss Manila 2020 Alexandra Abdon’s comment in the past.

Budol said she felt degraded when Abdon told her that she is not qualified to compete in beauty pageants because she is a “squammy.”

Despite this, Budol realized that Abdon’s comment pushed her to do her best in her career.

Budol and Abdon’s past issue was brought up by netizens since the former placed as first runner-up in Binibining Pilipinas 2022. Abdon received backlash from netizens for her previous comment about Budol.

During her guesting on Madam Inutz’s vlog, Budol asked netizens to stop bashing Abdon. She explained that Abdon’s comment was “scripted”.

“Tigilan na natin iyon, grabe naman kayo. Two years na pong nakalipas o magti-three years na.

Bati na tayo, di ba? 2020 pa iyon,” Budol said.

Budol has been chosen as the country’s representative for the third edition of the Miss Planet International pageant. She will compete against over 60 other delegates at the 2022 Miss Planet International pageant in Kampala, Uganda, on November 19.
