The OPM icon shared her heartwarming revelation during Chiu’s guesting on the Kapamilya morning talk show, Magandang Buhay.
Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid delighted Magandang Buhay’s viewers as well as the KimXi fans. Velasquez-Alcasid shared a very interesting and heartwarming detail of her first pregnancy, during the September 23 episode of the morning talk show.
Nate is her only son to her husband and fellow OPM legend Ogie Alcasid.
“Gusto ko lang sabihin na noong buntis ako pinaglihian ko kasi siya.
“(I just want to say that when I was pregnant, I was fond of Kim),” she revealed.
Chiu, meanwhile, remembered the Songbird for singing the theme song of her previous primetime series My Binondo Girl, which aired in 2011. Chiu starred in that top-rated series alongside Jollo Revilla, Matteo Guidecelli, and her real-life boyfriend Xian Lim.
It notably gave birth to their love team–KimXi.
“Kinanta ko yun kasi fan na fan ako. Gustong-gusto ko talaga siya. I just wanted to sing the theme song of her soap. And then I did it again. Di ba kumanta ulit ako.
“(I sang it because I am truly a fan. I like her a lot. I just wanted to sing the theme song of her soap. And then I did it again. Do you remember, I sang again for one of your shows?)”, she reminded Kim. Velasquez-Alcasid also sang Chiu’s last TV series Love Thy Woman.
The Magandang Buhay host affirmed her admiration of Chiu, noting how she got convinced she did the right thing in becoming a fan of the Kapamilya actress.
“Nakakatuwa. Nakaka-proud (It made me happy, proud),” she confessed.
“I just want you to know na I’m a fan, bata ka pa lang. Kaya minsan hindi ko siya kinakausap kasi nasta-starstruck ako.
“(Ever since you were younger, I have been a fan. That’s why if you notice, I get starstruck whenever I talk to you),” she shared, adding that even her husband, Ogie, also loves Kim. Kim and Ogie are both hosts of the noontime show It’s Showtime.
Teary-eyed, Chiu thanked Velasquez-Alcasid for her kind and beautiful words; and admitted that she felt it was her birthday. The Songbird, meanwhile, let Chiu know that she was inspired by the Kapamilya actress.
“We love you, Kim,” she said.
