ABS-CBN executive Julie Anne R. Benitez, a.k.a. JRB, gamely engaged netizens who criticized the Darna series.
In a series of tweets, Benitez defended the show from criticism that it is a flop series. She claimed that Darna had good TV ratings and billions and millions of views on TikTok and YouTube.

Based on the most recent rating reports from Nielsen NUTAM People’s Survey, Darna continues to rate at an average of 6 to 7 percent and steadily ranks 8th on the rating chart.
Meanwhile, aside from the ratings, netizens also pointed out the series’ poor visual effects and CGI.
In response, Benitez disputed the claim, asking the netizen how he/she came up with the idea that they were shortchanging their graphic artists.

The Kapamilya executive also answered a netizen who criticized the quality of the Kapamilya action-hero serye. She then proudly recognized the effort of the whole production team, whom she said worked tirelessly to come up with every episode of the series.

In the end, Benitez said she can’t control people’s reactions to the show.
If they think it is a flop–she can’t do anything about it.
