The Pambansang Ginoo David Licauco was a dashing debonair in white during the media event for Blue Water Day Spa, held on February 17 at Marco Polo Ortigas, Manila.
Licauco got introduced officially as the Spa’s newest ambassador, merely days after successfully wrapping up the series that catapulted him into fame.
Quirky and energetic host Tessa Prieto-Valdez led the event and entertained the crowd with engaging questions for the Kapuso Star.
The actor made headlines for his role in the hit series Maria Clara at Ibarra as Fidel as Dennis Trillo‘s mischievous companion and fellow Kapuso star Barbie Forteza’s love interest.
Licauco shared: “Nagulat ako sa success ng ‘Maria Clara at Ibarra.’ At the start, I was just a supporting character. And eventually, naging main character na siya.”
On being praised for his new-found fame, the GMA Network talent felt nothing short of grateful at the wonderful turn of events in his life and stated that he had to work hard to get to where he is now.
“Showbiz was never in my plans before,” Licauco admitted, sharing that he was intent on pursuing a basketball career before dabbling in modeling and then ultimately meeting his manager—the rest, as they say, was history.
“I went on personal workshops talaga… I paid for them myself,” Licauco answered upon being asked what kind of preparations he made before his rise to stardom.
Licauco is also a businessman working largely in food and beverage as well as a construction company. He shared that he made use of his time during the pandemic to get things done and into perspective.
“The pandemic gave me the time to do most of the things I could not do pre-pandemic. Like studying and meditating,” he said.
Following the enormous success of their pairing at Maria Clara at Ibarra, he revealed that he has future projects with Forteza.
Licauco was joined by a bevy of beauty queens as ambassadors for Blue Water Day Spa; among them was Miss World PHILIPPINES 2021 Tracy Maureen Perez.
