Following a series of live TV meltdowns, Wowowin host Willie Revillame is said to have taken a break from the show.
According to Cristy Fermin during her radio show on Radyo 5 92.3 News FM on Monday, February 13, Wowowin aired a replay episode because its host, Willie Revillame, didn’t want to work following his controversial TV outburst.
Following a stressful week at work, Fermin speculated that Revillame might be contemplating and just want to take a breather.
Fermin shared, “Di ba may nag-text sa akin na dating kaibigan ni Willie Revillame, binasa ko ang text na nadinig ninyo ni Wendell (Alvarez) sa taping natin (Showbiz Now Na), ang sabi niya (dating kaibigan) replay daw ang ipinalabas na Wowowin nu’ng isang araw dahil ang sabi may sakit daw si Willie. Pero ang totoo, nasa yate ayaw magtrabaho, siguro nalulungkot, nagpapahinga parang ganu’n.”
Revillame went viral on social media last week after a series of rant-filled speeches on his variety show, ‘Wowowin’.
In the February 4 episode of the show, Revillame caught the ire of netizens after gaslighting social media users who “rejoiced” over news reports that some ALLTV programs would go off the air, including Wowowin.
Revillame asked netizens to set aside politics and instead pray for their show and network.
After getting widely criticized on social media, the Wowowin host made another outburst on its February 7 episode, threatening to expose the names of his celebrity critics who, according to him, had asked for favors from him before.
In the said episode, Revillame castigated several unnamed individuals whom he said he had helped before when they needed his assistance.
