Filipino actress Alexa Ilacad was not expected to get angry while reading and responding to toxic comments from netizens. This was in the ‘Hot Summer LaHot Sexy’ video released by Star Magic.
Netizens commented harshly, but the actress did not back down and answered them all gracefully. Her responses were so clever that it was clear that she was a witty celebrity.
For instance, when one comment said, “nag two-piece ka pa, eh ang taba taba mo naman” to which Ilacad responded, “nakaka-beast mode!” “Oh my God, that is so mean,” she added.
Ilacad believes that people should not meddle with what others wear.
“Paki natin kung anon’g gustong isuot ng mga tao. That’s all. You know what I’m saying? Bakit tayo nangigialam sa suot ng ibang tao? ‘Di ba? ‘Di naman tayo ang nagpapakain sa kanila, hindi naman tayo ang bumili ng damit nila. Hindi naman ikakasira ng buhay mo kung nag-two-piece sila. So, why the violent reactions?” she said.
However, one comment really got to the actress who said, “Hindi na ako magtataka kung nababastos si Alexa. She deserves it because she’s asking for it kasi lagi siyang naka swimsuit.”
The actress pointed out that she always wears one-piece swimwear as it is her preference. She was fuming mad at all the shallow toxic comments.
She said women are disrespected because some people choose to do so.
She furthered, “Kaya nababastos ang mga babae, kasi may bastos. ‘Yun lang ‘yun. Damit lang ‘yun.”
Ilacad begged, “Please be kinder. Please. The world needs it. Sabi nga ni Ariana Grande, masyado na tayong comfortable commenting about someone else’s body, talking about other people’s bodies, and what we want to see in other bodies, how we think it should look like, things we want to project on other people.”
She concluded, “So, I pray for us to just be kinder, gentler and to also remember that not everything you see on social media is real, not everything is attainable, and totoo ‘yung sinasabi nila that every body is different. Let’s try.”
