The GMA Network had a triumphant year in 2022 with several ‘foundational breakthroughs.’
At GMA’s virtual Annual Stockholders’ Meeting on May 17, Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon said that the network had a strong performance in 2022.
Accordingly, the network accumulated PhP5.457B in net income in 2022. The income was 28% less than in 2021 because of the constant increase in operating expenses.
But the network remains the number one Philippine TV network on-air and online.
Nielsen Philippines says GMA Network also dominated the top 30 programs of the year, ranking 28 programs.
The network also sealed several partnership deals with TFC/iWantTV for Europe and the Middle East. In addition, it collaborated with TAPE, Regal, VIVA, and ABS-CBN.
The recent TV collaboration with ABS-CBN produced the upcoming series Unbreak My Heart.
Gozon then shared possible partnerships with content producers and licensing deals with streaming platforms like Netflix and Viu.
Gozon shared, “Our unrivaled independence, distinct journalism brand, and innovative concepts have created us the distinction of being the most-awarded Philippine broadcast network.”
“Armed with a wide reach, superior content and technology, and the most talented people in the industry, I am hopeful that the next years will be GMA’s best years,” he added.
On the other hand, Gozon also shared that the newly formed content and production partnerships will boost the network’s revenue as it dipped in the first quarter of the year.
