On April 19, Sparkle Teens Keisha Serna, Charlie Fleming, Naomi Parks, Liana Mae, Waynona Collings, and Antonio Vinzon recall getting discovered through social media or during the pandemic.
At the launch of Sparkle Teens, which LionhearTV covered, Serna and Fleming recounted how they got discovered through Tiktok.
“Actually, me and Keisha have the same manager,” said Fleming.
“Na-discover po kami sa Tiktok,” Serna responded.
“Yeah, we got both discovered through Tiktok different times and then luckily po nagkakilala kami through our manager,” Fleming confirmed.
Collings cited her similar experience to her fellow Sparkle Teens about getting invited to audition for Sparkle GMA Artist Center through social media.
“Before entering showbiz po I did content sa social media, I vlog and I post a lot of pictures, like my outfits, sa Instagram, sa Tiktok, and on YouTube, ‘yun po ‘yung ginagawa ko before I did Sparkle.”
Vinzon, the son of actor Roi Vinzon, confirmed that Cornerstone Management discovered him through Tiktok and Instagram.
“Ako po, tinuturuan na po ako dati ng Daddy ko na mag-acting and kaunting action po.
“And ‘yun po, nakitaan po ako ng Cornerstone sa IG and sa Tiktok. Sabi po nila na may potential ‘tong lalaking ‘to. Pwede ‘tong ipasok sa Sparkle Teens.”
As for Mae, she recounted joining Sparkle GMA Artist Center in the middle of the pandemic.
“Ako po, before po talaga nag-aaudition na po talaga ako sa GMA, pero first time ko po talaga na mag-showbiz. And then ‘yung kaka-audition ko nga po, may nag-message po sa akin na from GMA.”
Parks detailed her experience auditioning for GMA Network during the pandemic.
“Ako po may nag-message po sa akin na talent scout na si Mama Lester Palikpik po, na-discover po ako doon and sabi niya po try ko daw po mag-apply sa GMA Network, and then sinubukan ko po dahil gusto ko rin naman po talagang artista.”
As for Sparkle Teens, GMA Network introduced 19 teen stars to grow their star power and talent.
These teens artists include Waynona Collings, Charlie Fleming, Keisha Serna, Gaea Mischa, Selina Griffin, Ashley Sarmiento, Naomi Park, Liana Mae, Aya Domingo, Princess Aliyah, John Clifford, Lee Victor, James Graham, Antonio Vinzon, Aidan Veneracion, Josh Ford, Bryce Eusebio, Marco Masa, and Zyren Dela Cruz.
