On June 8, Kapuso star and beauty queen Rabiya Mateo admitted she felt pressure working with GMA Network Primetime King Dingdong Dantes.
At the media conference for the Kapuso series ‘Royal Blood’, which LionhearTV covered, Mateo explained that she feels pressure because she’s a newbie to the showbiz industry.
“Grabe po siguro ‘yung pressure kasi ako po ‘yung pinaka bago dito and nagpapasalamat po ako sa production, with everybody, that they allowed me to be a beginner, they allowed me to make mistakes. And ‘yung feedback na ‘yun, that pushes me to be really better.”
She also acknowledged the privilege and responsibility of her role in the Kapuso series.
“And working with Kuya Dong, it’s a privilege, mabigat po siyang responsibility, kasi po siya po ang ating Primetime King, but everyday I remind myself na somebody saw the potential in me at hindi ko pwedeng gawing rason na baguhan ako for me not to deliver.”
She then thanked those who believed in her artistic ability.
“Kaya nagpapasalamat po talaga ko sa lahat, na naniwala sa akin, thank you Kuya Dong for helping me, may mga eksena ako na nahihirapan ako. Sinasabi ko po sa inyo at nandoon po kayo para i-guide po ako. Kaya salamat po talaga.”
As for Dantes, he detailed how he assisted his co-stars on set, noting the value of trust between the actors.
“Automatic na yun kasi kapag ka-eksena mo ang kung sino man, you have to be there for each other. Mayroon kasing very important trait na kailangan kapag gumagawa ka ng eksena and that is trust. Kailangan may tiwala ka sa ka-eksena mo and kailangan may tiwala ‘yung ka-eksena mo para mabuo kung ano man ang gusto ninyong ikwento. And I think ganon talaga kami sa isa’t isa dito. Matindi ‘yung tiwala namin sa isa’t isa na hindi namin pababayaan ang kahit sino.”

The Kapuso murder mystery, directed by Dominic Zapata, airs June 19 on GMA Network primetime.
