In a highly anticipated showdown on July 1, ‘It’s Showtime’ and TVJ’s ‘E.A.T.’ both captivated audiences with their opening performances.
However, the recent comment from veteran TV host and comedian Joey de Leon stirred controversy, making netizens raise their eyebrows.
‘It’s Showtime’ made its much-awaited debut on GMA Network’s GTV with a spectacular entrance led by Anne Curtis and the Unkabogable Vice Ganda. Vice Ganda exclaimed, “It’s really happening!
The most notable in the show’s opening number was Vice Ganda’s helicopter ride which brought him from the ABS-CBN building to the GMA Network grounds. He made his descent in an elevator from the top down to the Kapuso Network’s compound where he performed with multitude of dancers.
The following day, July 2, Joey de Leon shared on Instagram a group photo where he, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and the Legit Dabarkads were squeezed in an elevator.
[winking face with tounge emoji]”.

Joey’s IG post drew flak from disappointed netizens who felt that the veteran host should act with more maturity. Some expressed their disappointment on Twitter:
