After the highly anticipated launch of TVJ’s new noontime show on TV5 and the simulcast of ‘It’s Showtime’ on GTV, the competition between the three noontime shows in the country has intensified.

In the latest rating reports from the Nielsen NUTAM People survey, the battle for ratings supremacy between E.A.T., ‘It’s Showtime,’ and ‘Eat Bulaga!’ is noticeable.

On Monday, July 3, E.A.T. recorded a 6.3 percent rating, securing the 9th spot on the rating chart. This is 1.7 percent lower than their 8.0 percent rating during the launch, and their ranking also dropped from the 5th spot.

Meanwhile, ‘It’s Showtime’ obtained a 3.0 percent rating, placing it in the 16th position, while the revamped ‘Eat Bulaga! ‘ garnered 3.3 percent, settling at the 15th spot.

On Tuesday, July 4, the competition tightened further as E.A.T. dropped to 5.0 percent, occupying the 10th spot.

‘It’s Showtime,’ on the other hand, slightly improved to 3.1 percent, while the rating of ‘Eat Bulaga!’ remained unchanged at 3.3 percent.

On Wednesday, July 5, ‘It’s Showtime’ overtook ‘Eat Bulaga!’ with a rating of 3.5 percent, surpassing the latter’s 3.3 percent. Meanwhile, E.A.T. closed in at 4.6 percent, dropping one spot to the 11th position.

And on Thursday, July 6, the competition among the three shows intensified even more, as both ‘It’s Showtime’ and ‘Eat Bulaga!’ recorded the same 3.5 percent rating, while E.A.T. obtained 4.4 percent.

They also became closer in terms of ranking with ‘It’s Showtime’ and ‘Eat Bulaga!’ tied for the 13th spot, while E.A.T. occupied the 12th spot.

Will this close-fight trend continue for the three? Or will one emerge victorious and start to pull away from the others? We will see in the coming days.
