On July 9, Kapuso actor-host Dingdong Dantes highlighted how he would promote the Philippines through ‘Amazing Earth.’
At the media event for the fifth year of ‘Amazing Earth,’ Dantes noted how their Kapuso informative show showcases unheard-of travel destinations in the country.
“As Fiipinos, I think we should all be ambassadors of our beautiful country. And ‘yun ang ginagawa namin linggo-linggo sa programang Amazing Earth.
“Pinapakita natin kung gaano kaganda ang ating mga lugar dito sa Pilipinas by showcasing places di ba na–minsan ‘yung mga bagay na kahit sabihin nating hindi sikat na tourist spots, nadi-discover ng Amazing Earth na may ganitong kagandang mga lugar sa Pilipinas. Fini-feature natin ‘yan.”
He also emphasized how ‘Amazing Earth’ promotes Filipino culture and values with each of their episodes.
“But more than the places, but of course, ‘yung kagandahan ng ating bansa, ng ating natural resources, ay ‘yung kagandahan ng ating kultura, at siyempre ‘yung pinakamahalaga sa lahat ay ‘yung kagandahan ng loob ng bawat Filipino. So ‘yun talaga ‘yung ating prino-promote every week through Amazing Earth. And I’m so grateful and proud to be part of this movement.”
He then recounted getting feedback from the audience who appreciated their efforts in promoting Filipino travel destinations and values.
“Ang kasukatan ko parati diyan ay kung ako mismo ay parating nai-inspire at ako’y namo-move sa mga kwentong ito. And siguro naman, baka kahit papaano, ‘yung mga audience natin, ‘yung mga manonood ganon din.
“And yes, we’ve been getting that feedback and–kasi parang maganda talaga na nagpapakita tayo ng mga magagandang halimbawa eh, ‘yung mabubuting ehemplo. Kasi minsan hindi naman natin lahat alam ang kasagutan.”
He then stressed the significance of educating their audience about the stories and must-see locations featured in their show.
“Lalo na ako, hindi ko naman talaga alam lahat ng kasagutan, lalo na sa mga bagay na ‘to. Kaya mahalaga na makakita tayo ng mga model stories, even ‘yung mga model Amazing Earth heroes na magpapakita na, ‘Uy, pwede pala ‘to.’ And then we get to educate ourselves through that inspiration. And then later on, nagagawa natin ito sa mga sarili nating mga buhay.”
He also pointed out how their show expands on the understanding of Filipinos about environmental issues and animal welfare.
“And napakarami niyan, sobrang lawak talaga, mula sa pag-unawa sa mga hayop, doon tayo mag-uumpisa. Hanggang sa pag-unawa at pag-appreciate ng ating kapaligiran, hanggang sa pagiging isang mabuting mamamayan, pati ‘yun naco-cover natin, so napakalawak din ng pwedeng ma-cover dito.”
‘Amazing Earth,’ the Kapuso informative showhosted by Dantes, celebrates its fifth anniversary with a 3-part special starting July 14, Friday at 9:35 PM.
