Comedians MC Muah and Lassy Marquez shared an interesting anecdote about their first encounter with Vice Ganda during an interview on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’ on September 27.
The two comedians revealed that when they auditioned for a comedy bar, they were surprised by Vice Ganda’s prominent presence.
Back then, Vice Ganda was already well-known as the “Reyna ng Comedy Bar” or the Queen of Comedy Bars. So, when MC and Lassy auditioned for a comedy bar and saw Vice Ganda as one of the judges, they were quite nervous.
MC described the moment, saying, “Noong nag-audition kami, nasa harapan talaga siya. Nasa gilid siya ng stage. Naka-ganoon [nakahalukipkip]…Akala mo siya ang may-ari.”
Lassy added, “Pero katabi niya ‘yung pinakamay-ari. Kung maka-gaanoon siya, akala mo siya [may-ari].”
According to the comedians, Vice Ganda was like the owner’s right-hand person, and his opinion seemed highly regarded during auditions. MC even mentioned that it felt like Vice Ganda was being asked by the owner, “Parang siya ‘yung tinatanong ng may-ari, ‘ano pasado ba?’”
Fortunately, MC and Lassy passed the audition, and they have since built a close friendship with Vice Ganda. Today, all three comedians work together as hosts on the Kapamilya noontime show, ‘It’s Showtime.’
