PJ Abellana, the father of actress Carla Abellana, has taken a stance on the speculations surrounding the sexual orientation of Tom Rodriguez, her daughter’s estranged husband.
PJ Abellana firmly believes that Tom is not gay and has cited the couple’s long-standing relationship as proof of this assertion.
In a recent interview on Morly Alinio’s vlog, ‘Ito ang Tondo,’ PJ Abellana shared his perspective on the matter. He emphasized that if Tom had any inclination toward same-sex relationships, it would have become apparent during their seven-year partnership.
“Hindi ako naniniwala umabot sila sa kasalan kung may gender isyu, hindi ‘yan aabot sa kasalan,” he shared.
The split between Carla and Tom remains a topic of interest, with the former revealing that she felt betrayed within the relationship. She disclosed, “There was still disrespect, all the lying, and all that. There was no change. Hindi po ‘yon first time na nangyari sa’min pero ito po ay taken to a different level. Extreme na po, mas malala na.”
PJ Abellana further dismissed the notion that Tom’s sexuality was a factor in their separation, stating that such concerns would not have led to marriage if they were indeed present. He remains confident in his belief that Tom’s sexual orientation is not the issue behind their relationship challenges.
