GMA Network’s most recent primetime action-drama, ‘Black Rider,’ appears to be gearing up for a competitive clash with ABS-CBN’s ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo (FPJBQ),’ showing promising ratings since its premiere on Monday, November 6.

Based on the most recent ratings released by the Nielsen NJUTAM People survey, ‘Black Rider’ has been on an upward trajectory in terms of ratings, challenging the current leading position held by its competitor, FPJBQ.
During its debut on Monday, November 6, ‘Black Rider’ secured a rating of 12.1 percent, ranking at number 3 on the ratings chart.
The following day, Tuesday, November 7, ‘Black Rider’ saw a slight increase of 0.1 percent, reaching 12.2 percent and maintaining its number 3 position in the ratings.
Midweek on Wednesday, November 8, ‘Black Rider’ continued its climb, increasing by an additional 0.9 percent from the previous day, reaching 13.1 percent, still holding the number 3 spot in the ratings.
On the other hand, its competitor, FPJBQ, retained its position as the top entertainment program, achieving ratings of 15.5 percent on Monday, November 6, 16.2 percent on Tuesday, November 7, and 14.8 percent on Wednesday, November 8.
If this trend persists, ‘Black Rider’ could replicate the success of Ruru Madrid’s previous series, ‘Lolong,’ in challenging another teleserye featuring Coco Martin, ‘FPJ’s Ang Probisyano.’
Nevertheless, it’s still too early to conclusively determine if ‘Black Rider’ will indeed match ‘Lolong’s success, especially considering FPJBQ’s established track record.
Let’s just wait and see if ‘Black Rider’ has the power to surpass FPJBQ’s solid base.
