On November 19, Kapuso actor Ruru Madrid praised Herlene Budol’s acting in Black Rider.
At the media event for the Kapuso Mall Shows in Cebu for the Lapu-Lapu City Festival, which LionhearTV covered, Madrid highlighted Budol’s talent in portraying emotional scenes.
“At ang galing nila, like kahapon si Miss Herlene Budol, nasa Black Rider na din, mayroon kaming ginagawang eksena. Tapos during scene, as in napabilib niya talaga ako sa acting skills niya. Parang umiiyak siya and then nilapitan ko siya, tapos kino-comfort ko na okay lang, ganyan-ganyan, tapos pagtingin niya sa akin, kita mo talaga na malungkot talaga siya tapos umiiyak talaga siya.”
He also acknowledged Budol’s ability to adjust to each role despite having two teleseryes under her belt.
“Parang nabigla lang ako siyempre pangalawang proyekto pa lang niya doon, pangalawang teleserye pa lang, pero nakita mo talaga na ganon siya kabilis mag-adapt sa bagong mundo. So nakakatuwa ‘yung mga bagong generations ngayon na pumapasok na rin po sa industriya ng showbusiness.”

Aside from Budol, he also noted why they cast new artists and social media influencers in the Kapuso action series.
“Kaya naman talaga kami kumuha ng ganong karaming like actors from different generations and at the same time mayroon din tayong influencers, para at least ‘yung relatability po ng buong project, kumbaga ‘yung manonood, alam po nila kung paano ‘yung nararanasan ng bawat character doon sa Black Rider. So feeling ko doon naman po talaga pupunta.”
Kapuso stars Ruru Madrid, Yassi Pressman, and Matteo Guidicelli from Black Rider; Dennis Trillo and Andrea Torres from Love Before Sunrise; and Gabby Concepcion and Beauty Gonzalez from Stolen Life attended the Lapu-Lapu City Festival in Cebu from November 18 to 19, in back-to-back events to celebrate with their fans in GMA Regional TV.
