On December 3, Asia’s Multimedia Star and Kapuso actor Alden Richards discussed his upcoming projects for 2024, including ‘Pulang Araw,’ and his directorial debut film with a working title, ‘Out of Order.’
At the media conference for ‘Family of Two,’ which LionhearTV covered, Richards revealed that he would go on a two-week vacation after the Metro Manila Film Festival season.
When he returns by mid-January, Richards will start promoting his series with Sanya Lopez, Barbie Forteza, and David Licauco.
“Yes po, Pulang Araw na po, mag-start na rin po kami ng promo ng first ever promo ko po.”
He also discussed his directorial debut film with Heaven Peralejo, which they recently started production.
“This (movie) is a partnership between Viva Entertainment and Studio Viva, tapos ‘yung company ko po, [which is] Myriad Entertainment. So napaka-buti po ni Boss Vic to be able to give [full] control with the film.
“Nag-start na po, Day-5 na po kami.”
When he heard people calling him ‘Direk Alden’ Richards replied, “Opo, nakakatuwa nga po kapag naririnig ko ‘yun eh.”
Aside from his upcoming projects, Richards also expressed interest in directing a psycho-thriller film, citing his filmmaking skills improved throughout the years.
“Gusto ko pong makapaggawa po and hopefully makapag-direk ng Psycho-film na ako po ‘yung bida. Kasi nga ‘yun po, when I started directing my first film, parang doon ko na-realize na kung ano ‘yung nagiging imagination ko kapag binabasa ko sa script, ‘yun talaga ‘yung nangyayari kapag kinukunan ko na siya.
“Pero, before po kasi, when I do that, some of the scenes medyo hindi pa po nangyayari ‘yung vision ko. Pero ngayon, kung ano ‘yung nabasa ko, kung paano ko siya gustong mangyari, nangyayari po siya.”
He also addressed the possibility of getting into screenplays, mentioning his experience revising parts of the script for his film with Peralejo.
“Parang sa ngayon po, papunta na rin po doon kasi, binigyan po ako ng liberty ng head writer namin to revise on the spot. Na sige lang Den, kung ano ‘yung tingin mong tama at angkop sa mga nakunan you can revise it.
“Hindi ko po kukunin ‘yung credit na ‘yun, sa kanila po ‘yun, I’m just there to solidify everything, na-clear ‘yung vision ko about this, and the vision of the whole team about it, kailangan ‘yun lang maipakita natin with this one.”
As for his Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 movie, ‘Family of Two’ stars Alden Richards and Sharon Cuneta.
The cast includes Miles Ocampo, Jackie Lou Blanco, Tonton Gutierrez, and Pepe Herrera.
Under the direction of Nuel Naval and the screenplay of Mel Del Rosario, ‘Family of Two’ opens in cinemas on December 25 during the MMFF 2023, with a premiere night on December 14.
