Kapuso actor and former ‘Eat Bulaga!’ host Alden Richards openly acknowledged watching the rival show ‘It’s Showtime.’
The admission came during Alden’s first-ever visit to the program on Monday, December 3, where he was joined by Megastar Sharon Cuneta to promote their upcoming film, ‘Family of Two,’ part of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2023.
Recalling the heyday of the AlDub loveteam with Maine Mendoza on ‘Eat Bulaga,’ Vice Ganda shared that they almost surrendered as it seemed the entire nation was captivated by the ‘Kalyeserye.’
With the departure of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon (TVJ) from GMA Network to TV5, Alden found himself no longer part of the Dabarkads due to contractual obligations with GMA Network.
Despite being considered one of GMA Network’s prized talents and A-listers, Alden’s contract adjustments allowed him to visit ‘It’s Showtime,’ signaling a shift away from network rivalry.
Alden expressed his willingness to appear on ‘It’s Showtime’ to demonstrate unity in the entertainment industry.
“Aaminin ko rin naman, nanonood din naman ako ng ‘Showtime.’ So it’s an honor to be here. Kaya rin po ako talaga nandito ngayon is to really show (na wala na) ‘yong network wars o the misunderstanding. Kasi isa lang naman talaga ang gusto nating gawin, ‘yong mapasaya, ‘yong mga nanonood sa atin,” he stated.
Vice Ganda added a lighthearted note, “Alam n’yo po kaming lahat kahit magkakasabay ang mga programa namin, pinanood din naman namin ang isa’t isa and we don’t mind. Nagkikita-kita kami sa mga lugar, nagyayakapan din kami.”

Alden Richards is currently on a promotional tour with Sharon Cuneta for their MMFF 2023 film entry, ‘Family Of Two,’ set for a nationwide release on Christmas day.
