On December 15, Fire and Ice Founder Liza Diño-Seguerra shared why singer Ryan Gallagher loved returning to the Philippines.
At the media conference for Gallagher’s Christmas single ‘The Feeling of Christmas,’ which LionhearTV covered, Diño-Seguerra cited how the Michigan-born singer loved performing with Filipino artists.
“Actually, kilala niya sila Kuya Martin Nievera, nakapag-duet na siya with Miss Lea Salonga, tapos noong ano, they said na oh, he’s coming here, so we said, o sige tara, we’ll help you promote your Christmas album.
“Tapos ‘yun nga, sabi niya, I love performing with Filipinos.” There’s just some connection and bond with them. So, sabi namin. Sige, let’s explore that, and let’s see how he works.”
She also addressed whether Fire and Ice Media and Productions would handle Gallagher’s career while he’s in the Philippines.
“Si Ice talaga ang may gusto na mag-start kami to do emerging artists or magagaling na singers.
“Wala pang final, we are, right now, we are helping in the promotions of his album. This is actually a sixteen song Christmas album pero ikukwento niya sa inyo na lahat ng mga orchestra ng mga film composers from different Hollywood films are part of that. And then ‘yung isang song na ‘to ang gusto niyang ipatikim to see kung ano ‘yung magiging response ng mga Filipinos.”
She also highlighted Gallagher’s bond with his Filipino friends.
“And mayroon talaga siyang affinity, mayroon talaga siyang bond with Filipinos. Noong nag-start pa lang siya sa career niya, lagi siyang nai-invite dito, tapos biglang he started having new friends na Filipinos, eh noong nasa states ako back in 2009, nakilala ko siya, kasi nagkilala kami sa isa sa mga events.
“Tapos ‘yun doon ko nakilala ‘yun when I was living in the US. Tapos ‘yun, si Ice din, he also loves to do standards, broadway, nag-duet sila noong nandoon kami sa US. So ‘yun, parang serendipity lang.”
As for his latest single, ‘The Feeling of Christmas’ is currently available on Apple Music. The holiday song offers a fresh take on the season, infusing it with Gallagher’s unique musical style and vocals.
