On December 13, actor Matteo Guidicelli considered ‘Penduko’ as the biggest movie of his career.
At the media conference for ‘Penduko,’ which LionhearTV covered, Guidicelli thanked Viva and Media Quest for allowing him to take on the role.
“I think this is the biggest movie so far in my career, maraming-maraming salamat sa Viva, and of course, sa MediaQuest, for giving me this opportunity to.”
He then discussed their director, Jason Paul Laxamana’s, filmmaking style.
“And most importantly, kay Direk Jason Paul Laxamana, grabe, the way he guided his actors on set. He’s molded a whole bagong Penduko Universe on his mind.
“And when we went on set, talagang alam niya kung ano ‘yung gusto niyang makita, ano ‘yung gusto niyang gawin para sa amin. So, I think we’re very much guided here on what kind of Penduko, what kind of character we’re portraying here. So maraming salamat kay Direk no.”
He acknowledged how the director made an entire ‘universe’ with their upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 movie.
“And ‘yun, again, the Penduko universe is amazing. Kung anong sinulat ni Direk Jason Paul. Compared to the other versions, each has their own magic di ba? May sari-sarili silang kwento. Like /what Direk said, Penduko 1 to 3 wasn’t a continuation /so /that’s why he had the liberty of creating his own.”
He then discussed how ‘Penduko’ would differ from the previous versions of the character.
“So, I think how Penduko would be very different? Connected to the modern world, to social media today, the digitalization of concerns of today’s world. So that’s what Penduko is all about this time 2023.
“If I watched the previous Pendukos, yes, I did. Obviously, ‘yung kay Matt Evans, how he behaved as a man. And Sir Janno Gibbs and Sir Ramon Zamora. I watched parts lang, hindi buo po, because coming to Direk Paul’s script is very new, so I wanted to bring a new take on Penduko. So, I didn’t want to be copying the moves, right? I wanted to be authentic and new for this 2023.”
‘Penduko’ stars Matteo Guidicelli, Albert Martinez, John Arcilla, and Kylie Versoza.
The cast includes Mark Anthony Fernandez, Phoebe Walker, Marissa Sanchez, Candy Pangilinan, Andrea Del Rosario, Arron Villaflor, Gene Padilla, Joe Vargas, Martin Venegas, Keagan De Jesus, Kurt Delos Reyes, Tyro Daylusan, Zombie Tugue, TJ Valderrama, Jobelyn Manuel, JC Tiuseco, Andrea Babierra, and Annika Co.
