On January 10, Kapamilya star Donny Pangilinan detailed his hands-on involvement with their movie ‘Good Game (GG) The Movie.’
At the media event for the upcoming movie ‘Good Game (GG) The Movie,’ which LionhearTV covered, Pangilinan attested to his involvement in the project, alongside his sister Hannah, in ensuring the quality of their movie, particularly with their playable game.
“Well, of course, since Hannah, my sister, is aboard. She is the creative producer–we really made sure na we wanted to make a movie that we would be proud of, and I think the game was a big part since we made the game from scratch talaga, for the movie itself, and it’s a playable game.”
He then shared behind-the-scenes details about the accompanying game of their movie.
“It’s called Requiem and dito ninyo lang makikita sa pelikula ‘yung game na ‘yun. And pinaghirapan talaga ng team ‘yun. Grabe ‘yung VFX. So na-aamaze pa rin ako until now. Na-aamaze ako until now kung ano ‘yung ginawa ng team just to come up with that game.
“But yeah, it’s been a hands-on experience, di ba? Sobrang ano ‘yung game.”
Producer Pamela Reyes highlighted the production process of their movie and their game Requiem.
“We’ve been working on the game for over a year. And we’d hear from other productions that they have a very short time for post-production. But with this movie specifically, we’d like to follow the timeline to make the VFX good.
“Of course, shout out to RoboSheep, who did the game [itself.] And our VFX with Maras-Maras Studios. The whole team has been working hard every day until [we’re going to] release it in a few weeks.
“So, it’s going to be original. And it’s going to be, I think, the first movie in the Philippines that actually made a game from scratch.”
‘Good Game (GG) The Movie’ stars Donny Pangilinan, Maricel Laxa, Baron Geisler, Ronaldo Valdez, Johannes Isler, Iggy Boy Flores, Gold Aceron, Kaleb Ong, Anthony Pangilinan, and Boots Anson-Roa.
Under the direction of Prime Cruz, ‘Good Game (GG) The Movie’ opens in cinemas on January 24.
