On January 5, Kapuso star Thea Tolentino emphasized the importance of consent before catfight scenes.
At the media conference for ‘Makiling,’ which LionhearTV covered, Tolentino cited how asking consent from her scene partner prepares them when doing physically demanding scenes.
“Pinaka-importante po is bago gawin ‘yung eksena, talaga pong kung mayroon kang gustong idagdag you should ask for consent, para hindi po magka-gulatan or kung madadala man ng emotion, pagkatapos ng eksena, talagang hihingi ng pasenya.”
She then highlighted the bond she and the cast of the Kapuso afternoon series built while doing the project.
“And of course, dahil sa samahan namin dito sa Makiling, talagang may trust kami sa isa’t-isa. Inaalalayan namin ang isa’t-isa sa bawat eksena.”
She then talked about behind-the-scenes preparations for some of their sequences for ‘Makiling.’
“‘Yung scene po kanina, sa ilog, ‘yung scene po na nagsampalan kami, walang pong handa-handa po ‘yun. First day of taping po ‘yun, so hindi ako nakapag-diet. So sabi ko, pwede po bang may tapal, mayroon naman. So ayun po, naitawid naman.Â
“Grabe ‘yung eksena na ‘yun kasi nasa tubigan kami ni Elle, nagsasampalan kami, tapos sa sobrang gigil ni Almira na hindi ko agawin si Alex sa kaniya, nagkasugat ako sa labi. Ganon po katindi ang ganti ni Almira, kaya abangan po natin sa mga iba pang eksena ng Makiling.”
She then hinted at more intense scenes for the revenge-serye.
“Actually, madami pa po akong ibang scenes po na hindi ko na–hindi pa namin nasho-shoot. So kahit ako, nagugulat pa rin ako sa mga eksena na paparating. So ngayon po kasi, puro mga emotional ‘yung nakukunan na eksena.”
As for their series, ‘Makiling’ stars Elle Villanueva and Derrick Monasterio with Myrtle Sarrosa, Kristoffer Martin, Thea Tolentino, Royce Cabrera, Teejay Marquez, Claire Castro, Soliman Cruz, Cris Villanueva, Richard Quan, Manny Castañeda, Bernadette Allyson, Lui Manansala, Pekto, Baninay, Andrea del Rosario, Lotlot De Leon, Mon Confiado, Ramon Innocencio, and Sue Prado.
Under the direction of Conrado Peru, ‘Makiling‘ started airing on January 8 via GMA Network.
