In an episode of the talk show ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’ on Monday, February 20, Guzman and Diaz shared insights into their 11-year practice of celibacy since officially becoming a couple. Guzman candidly admitted the initial challenges they faced, recalling tearful moments during the first two years of their commitment.

Guzman recounted his struggle, confessing, “First two years namin umiiyak ako sa kaniya. To be honest ang hirap. Noong time na iyon parang hindi ko na kaya. Kasi siyempre ‘di ‘ba?” However, he found solace in Diaz’s reassurance, who reminded him of their love and commitment to each other.
Diaz, on the other hand, revealed the deeply personal promise she made to her parents to abstain from sex before marriage. “Kasi ako po ino-honor ko po yung family ko, especially my mom and dad. Iyan po ang promise ko sa kanila talaga na kahit iwan niyo ako saan, ito buo-buo pa rin ako,” she explained, emphasizing the significance of preserving this commitment.

Addressing their engagement, Diaz shared that Guzman understood her readiness concerns when he proposed in December 2021.
She acknowledged his patience and understanding, affirming, “Pero in-assure ni Edgar na willing to wait siya. Kahit gaano pa katagal ‘yan, hindi niya ako pipilitin, hindi niya ako mamadaliin, willing to wait siya, basta pakasalan ko siya.”
Guzman echoed this sentiment, stating, “Nandito lang ako kung kailan ka ready. Andito lang ako. I’m willing to wait. I’m willing to sacrifice.”
