On January 22, Star Magic artist and sister Erik Santos Hadiya Santos explained her absence from the second auditions of Zoomers after her father passed away.

At the media conference for Zoomers, which LionhearTV covered, Santos detailed her emotional state during the first part of the audition process for her role in the Kapamilya youth-oriented series.

“I think po ‘yung unforgettable or ‘yung challenge po is ‘yung sa kaba since first time ko nga po. ‘Yung emotions ko po during the interview since noong first audition po, parang na-open yung about my brother and then hanggang sa na-open ‘yung sa mom ko and then sa dad ko na during that time nasa hospital pa.”

She described how overwhelming things became after her father passed away, resulting in her absence from the second auditions for Zoomers.

“And then po noong may call na po for the second audition, I wasn’t able to attend kasi ‘yun po, my dad passed away na. Parang after a week lang, parang ambilis po ng lahat na parang noong first audition pinag-uusapan pa lang na ‘yung dad ko nasa hospital trying to get better tapos biglang second audition, hindi po ako naka-attend kasi wake na ng dad ko. So, I think ‘yun po ‘yung challenge for me during the auditions.”

She admitted feeling dejected after missing out on the second day of auditions.

“And ‘yung constant na pag-ooverthink and panghihinayang kasi talagang gusto ko po ‘yung itong audition na ‘to. Talagang gusto ko pong makakuha ng role and maging part ng series. Sobrang hinayang po ako ng second auditions.”

Their series director, Chad Vidanes, attested to Santos’ emotional maturity while taping for Zoomers.

“Siyempre family first, naiintindihan naman natin ‘yun. But how she handled her emotions was [very] mature, very professional. So, when we got to the set, she was focused enough. I didn’t feel the distractions from her.”

As for Zoomers, the Kapamilya primetime series stars Harvey Bautista, Criza Taa, Analain Salvador, Ashton Salvador, and Luke Alford.

The cast features Star Magic artists Ralph De Leon, Krystl Ball, Erika Davis, Luis Vera Perez, Kei Kurosawa, Hadiyah Santos, Redd Arcega, Noelle Martinex, Reich Alim, Jay-R Albino, Matthew Cruz, Omar Udin, and Zabel Lamberth.

Under the direction of Chad Vidanes, Zoomers airs after Can’t Buy Me Love at 10:15 PM on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, and TV5, with episode streaming via ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube channel.
