At his contract signing event on May 9, Kapuso star Dingdong Dantes expressed his eagerness to collaborate again with his wife, Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera, either in a movie or a teleserye.
The powerhouse couple recently worked together in the acclaimed film ‘Rewind’ and enjoyed their collaboration on the sitcom ‘Jose and Maria’s Bonggang Villa.’ Despite these recent projects, Dantes admitted that he misses working with Rivera.
“Wow, sana. Parati kong sinasabi, noong ginagawa namin ‘yung movie, na-miss kong katrabaho ang asawa ko. Tapos ilang buwan pa lang pagkatapos, na-miss ko na naman siyang katrabaho, kahit kasama ko siya sa ‘Bonggang Villa,’ ‘di ba katatapos lang namin. Pagdating sa isang teleserye, we’ll see. Kung maging posible ‘yun, bakit hindi,” he shared.
Meanwhile, the couple was recognized as the Box Office Phenomenal Stars of Philippine Cinema at the Box Office Entertainment Awards 2024. Dantes expressed gratitude for the recognition, highlighting its significance for their work.
“With regards to our recognitions, para sa amin, we are, in a way, grateful na may ganoon. Para sa amin napakalaking bonus nito na may mga ganitong pagkilala. Kasi talagang ano eh, sini-celebrate talaga namin siya and thank you for celebrating that with us,” he said.
Dantes added, “But ‘yun nga sana, maging indicator siya na talagang mas maraming manood ng ating mga pelikula. Kahit hindi film festival, ‘di ba? ‘Yun ang talagang gusto namin.”
He also cherished sharing such achievements with Rivera, especially since it was a rare moment for them to be jointly recognized by an award-giving body.
“I’m also grateful that kasama ko ang asawa ko kapag tatanggapin ko ang award na ito. Kasi, you know minsan, pwedeng mangyari ‘yon na separately. Sa kanya sa ibang panahon, sa akin sa ibang panahon. Pero dahil pinagkaloob sa amin na sabay sa amin eh isang napakalaking biyaya na hindi namin pwedeng balewalain,” he thanked.
The actor also appreciated Rivera for being not just his wife but also a dedicated mother to their children.
“I see her dedication and hanga ako sa kanya. Bilib na bilib ako sa kanya,” mused the actor.
Dantes emphasized his commitment to supporting Rivera in every way possible, celebrating her dedication and ensuring she has everything she needs to fulfill her role as a mother.
“Kaya, lahat ay gagawin ko para suportahan ang kanyang pagiging ina. I’m here to celebrate her, I’m here to provide her everything that she needs in order for her to take on and fulfill her role as a mother.”
Meanwhile, Rivera is busy with her comeback teleserye ‘My Guardian Alien,’ while Dantes continues hosting ‘Amazing Earth,’ ‘Family Feud,’ and soon ‘The Voice Kids Philippines.’
