The ongoing feud between Vice Ganda and veteran showbiz journalist Cristy Fermin has heated up again, with both figures exchanging fresh insults.
This public spat, which has been simmering for some time, recently intensified following a series of pointed comments.
The controversy initially sparked when Cristy Fermin criticized Vice Ganda during a dispute with the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB). Fermin accused the ‘It’s Showtime’ host of being “tapang-tapangan”. She also took aim at Vice’s partner, Ion Perez, insinuating that Perez was only with Vice for comfort.
In her program, Fermin made a blunt statement: “Vice Ganda, hindi ka tunay na babae. Lalake ka, Vice Ganda, nagpapanggap ka lang na babae.”
Vice Ganda responded by taking several veiled shots at Fermin during his noontime show. Notably, he used a contestant with a similar name to indirectly address the veteran talk show host. He also mentioned that some of his fans were urging him to file a lawsuit amid the legal battles Fermin was facing with other celebrities like Bea Alonzo, Sharon Cuneta, and the mother of Sarah Lahbati.
In a recent segment of ‘Expecially For You,’ Vice Ganda directly called out Cristy Fermin. During a banter with co-host Jhong Hilario about the differences between men and women in troubled relationships, Jhong remarked, “Ganyan naman kasi kayong mga babae.”
Vice Ganda quickly retorted, “Huwag mong sasabihin yan, magagalit si Cristy Fermin.”
He added, mimicking Fermin, “Hindi ka babae, Vice. Ang sabi niya bwak, bwak, bwak.”
The audience erupted in laughter at this quip.
