Comedienne Aiai delas Alas is currently in talks with Star Cinema to revive the beloved comedy-drama series ‘Tanging Ina.’

In a recent online interview, Delas Alas disclosed her plans to co-produce the project, which aims to reunite the original cast members.

“Ako ‘yung magpo-produce. Kumbaga, partnership with Star Cinema,” she revealed. She also mentioned discussing budget details with the film studio.

Delas Alas has also secured approval from her ‘Tanging Ina’ children, who are expected to participate in the upcoming film. “Actually, kinakausap ko na ang ‘yung mga anak ko, go naman sila. ‘Yung mga ‘Tanging Ina’ na anak ko kasi may chat group kami. Sinabi ko sa kanila, kapag ba ginawa natin ito, go kayo? Sabi nila ‘Oo Mama, go kami diyan.’ Sabi ko, ‘O sige, try natin hahanap ako ng producer tapos gawin natin,” she explained.

The original ‘Ang Tanging Ina’ released in 2003 was a monumental success for Star Cinema, followed by ‘Ang Tanging Ina N’yong Lahat’ in 2008 and ‘Ang Tanging Ina Mo (Last Na To)’ in 2010, all directed by the late Wenn V. Deramas.

Aiai delas Alas, currently based in San Francisco, California, has been balancing her time managing her businesses, which include Martina’s Bread and Pastry and the newly opened MC Aesthetics and Skin Care.
