Actress Julia Barretto’s intense work commitments have been cited by her boyfriend, actor Gerald Anderson, as the likely reason for her recent hospitalization.
During the 2024 Star Magic All Star Games at the Araneta Coliseum, Anderson provided an update on Barretto’s health status. He revealed that her busy schedule was a significant factor in her falling ill.
“‘Yung duda namin, nagkasakit na kasi she was shooting a movie, then a series. Then now, magshu-shoot ulit siya ng movie, so medyo sunod-sunod na. So nagkasakit siya, but ganoon talaga,” Anderson explained. “Na-confine siya ilang days din. Malala din, malala.”
Barretto shared on Instagram on May 13 that she had been discharged from the hospital, expressing gratitude towards her doctors, nurses, and the medical staff who cared for her during her illness.
She also highlighted the importance of prioritizing health, saying, “A tough time but taking this one as a reminder that our health should always be top priority.”
