Filipino comedian and TV host Vice Ganda shared his unfiltered thoughts on the Miss Universe 2024 presentation, expressing dissatisfaction with the event’s production and injecting humor into his commentary.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Vice questioned the overall quality of the pageant, held on November 16 in Mexico City.

“Lasing at puyat lang ba ko o talagang ang panget ng presentation nitong #MissUniverse2024 ???” Vice tweeted. The post quickly gained traction, amassing nearly one million views.

Vice also took a lighthearted jab at Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, who served as a backstage host for the pageant. Observing Catriona’s outfit, Vice joked, “Natatakot ako baka cooking show tong Miss U! Naka apron si Catriona eh.”

The comment drew laughs from fans, though some noted the frustration of Filipino pageant enthusiasts as the Philippines’ representative, Chelsea Manalo, exited the competition after reaching the Top 30.

Despite her early elimination from the finals, Chelsea Manalo made history as the first-ever Miss Universe Asia, a title introduced in this year’s pageant. Vice extended his gratitude and encouragement to Chelsea, tweeting: “Thanks Chelsea! Have a safe flyt back home!”

The 73rd Miss Universe pageant crowned Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark as the new queen, succeeding Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua. Alongside the main winner, continental queens were announced, with Chelsea securing the title of Miss Universe Asia, a significant milestone for the Philippines.
