Actor Anthony Jennings has been actively promoting his film ‘And The Breadwinner Is…’ despite being absent from media conferences and out-of-town shows for the movie’s promotion.
The film, which stars Vice Ganda, is part of the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
On the first day of the MMFF 2024 opening, Jennings took to Instagram to share the official poster of the film and opened up about his personal experience as a breadwinner. He explained that, like many Filipinos, he has been supporting his family from a young age and understands the challenges and fulfillment that come with it.
“Tulad ng karamihan, maaga din po ako naging breadwinner kaya ramdam ko ang hirap at saya na bitbit nila araw araw,” he wrote.
In his post, Jennings also shared how his family and friends are his source of strength during difficult times. He described their support as crucial, especially when dealing with personal challenges.
“May mga araw diyan na mahirap kaya mahalaga sakin ang pamilya at ang mga kaibigan ko na pamilya ko na din kasi sa bawat problema na pinag dadaanan ko sila lang ang nag sisilbing sandalan ko na kahit anong mangyare palagi silang may paraan para mapasaya ako,” he shared.
He added that ‘And The Breadwinner Is…’ holds a special place in his heart, with the film being dedicated to all breadwinners and Filipino families. Jennings even mentioned that the film’s poster brought him to tears.
“Itong pelikulang ‘And The Breadwinner Is’ talagang malapit sa puso ko. Poster palang maluha luha nako eh.”
“Ngayong pasko ito po ang aming pinaka malaking handog para sainyo. Sa mga breadwinner at sa bawat miyembro ng pamilyang Pilipino,” he expressed.
He ended his post with a Christmas greeting, urging his followers to watch the film in theaters: “Maligayang pasko sa ating lahat at magkita kita tayo sa mga sinehan ngayong pasko. Maraming salamat po!”

Jennings limited the comments on his post, likely due to recent controversies. A few days earlier, he and his co-star Maris Racal faced backlash after screenshots of sweet messages between them were shared by Jennings’ ex-girlfriend on social media. Both actors issued public apologies through ABS-CBN News following the incident.
