Veteran actor Dennis Trillo marked his latest achievement with a joyous TikTok upload after winning Best Actor at the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2024 Gabi ng Parangal.
In the video, Dennis danced to Coco Martin’s verse from the ABS-CBN Christmas 2024 theme song, ‘Our Stories Shine This Christmas.’ The post, captioned “Victory Dance as a Jejeboy panalo tayo guys! ☃️️,” quickly gained attention, with hashtags like #greenbonesmovie and #mmff2024 celebrating his film’s success.

Dennis won the prestigious award for his portrayal of Domingo Zamora in Green Bones, a gripping drama produced by GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs. The actor triumphed over a competitive roster of nominees, including Vice Ganda, Seth Fedelin, Vic Sotto, Piolo Pascual, and Arjo Atayde.
This win adds to Dennis’ illustrious career, following his first MMFF Best Actor award in 2018 for ‘One Great Love’.
During his acceptance speech, Dennis expressed heartfelt gratitude for the recognition: “Maraming salamat po dito sa karangalan na ito, isang napakalaking karangalan na tumanggap ng isang napaka-espesyal na parangal sa harap ninyong lahat,” he said.

He further reflected on the significance of Green Bones being included in the festival’s historic 50th-anniversary lineup: “Lagi ko pong sinasabi na ngayong araw ng kapaskuhan, ayaw ko na pong magpa-stress sa pakikipagkumpetensya o pakikipagpagalingan sa kahit kanino man dahil pakiramdam namin panalo na kami nu’ng napasok pa lang sa sampung entries dito sa 50th anniversary ng Metro Manila Film Fest ang ‘Green Bones.’”
In the film, Dennis delivered a powerful performance as Domingo Zamora, a prisoner convicted of murdering his sister and her child. The story revolves around Domingo’s potential parole, with prison guard Xavier Gonzaga (Ruru Madrid) determined to keep him incarcerated.
The movie, which also won the Best Picture award, continues to captivate audiences in cinemas nationwide.
