Young stars Seth Fedelin and Francine Diaz, the breakout love team behind the much-anticipated Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry ‘My Future You’, recently appeared on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’.
During their interview, the two opened up about their film, their thoughts on love and cheating, and their undeniable chemistry on and off-screen.
Seth and Francine shared the intriguing premise of their film, which blends romance with a sci-fi twist.
“Ang My Future You…tungkol siya sa dalawang tao na magkaiba ng panahon. Magkaiba ng reality, pero ‘yung timeline nila magkakatagpo,” Seth explained. “Nabubuhay ako ng 2009, ‘yung reality ko. Siya, nabubuhay siya ng 2024. Meron kasing dumaan na comet, so naapektuhan ‘yung reality namin.”
Francine emphasized a key lesson from the movie: “Isa sa mga lesson ng pelikula namin ay i-embrace ‘yung present. Ang hilig po nating balikan ‘yung past o overthink ang future, nakakalimutan natin maging grateful sa present natin. ‘Yun ang isang gusto kong magustuhan ng mga manonood.”
When asked by Boy Abunda about his stance on cheating, Seth offered a principled perspective.
“Ang cheating kasi bawal ‘yan. Tina-take ko ‘yan as yabang ko sa sarili ko. Para mas maramdaman ko na dapat ako mahalin, dapat worth it ako kasi hindi ko kayang gawin sa ‘yo ‘yan,” he said.
The conversation turned lighthearted when Francine revealed a dream where Seth cheated on her. “May one time na napanaginipan ko. Akala ko totoo. Pagbukas ng mata ko, ang sakit. Naliligo ako umiiyak,” she recounted with a laugh.
In a playful moment, Francine disclosed her “competition” for Seth’s attention—a video game character named Princess Zelda from The Legend of Zelda.
“Kapag quality time, naglalaro pa rin siya. Marami akong chat na sunod-sunod, tapos biglang ise-send niya ‘yung picture ni Zelda,” Francine joked, highlighting Seth’s fondness for gaming.
Seth and Francine also reminisced about the moment Seth first admitted his feelings for her during a plane ride.
“Masakit ‘yung tenga ko nu’n kasi pataas ng pataas [ang lipad]. Bigla niyang sabi, ‘Alam mo ba crush kita?’” Francine shared.
Seth elaborated, saying, “Kapag nakikita kita sa taping, lumiliwanag ‘yung mundo ko. Parang ang gaan-gaan.”
Boy Abunda ended the interview on a cheerful note by jokingly officiating their “wedding,” to which the love team gamely played along, delighting viewers with their playful banter.
